Indeed they are! What is this weird green gunk…
Hi, I’m sbird! I like programming and am interested in Astrophysics and all things space. I also have a hobby of photography.

Indeed they are! What is this weird green gunk…

I will check for that!

I have checked with others, they hear the same issue. And with normal noise, my left ear hears fine

Given that they have the means to have travelled from another world (presumably from outside the Solar System, as there are no signs of space colonising extraterrestrials in our neighbourhood we can observe), they must be technologically far superior to us. My guess is that they would treat us, little guys on a blue marble, like we do with ants.
Although ants have a very intricate way of life, with jobs, conflict, infrastructure, etc., most humans don’t put too much thought into keeping them safe, we trample on their cities that we say are primitive compared to our own, and we export some ants to new worlds. Additionally, even among our own species, colonialism was commonplace in all parts of the world throughout the world and its remnants still exists today, as one group of people believed they were superior to another.
Intelligent extraterrestrials capable of interplanetary (and probably interstellar) travel would definitely outclass us in every metric, and they could easily wipe us out, either by accident or on purpose (through disease, conflict, colonisation, etc.)
However, I hope that these extraterrestrials eventually acknowledge our existence as a civilisation. A little like how there are entomologists who study ants for a living and conservationists who preserve their habitats. Or perhaps organisations like UNESCO, in charge of protecting dying cultures and lost traditions, could be formed by these extraterrestrials. Maybe treaties of reparations and acknowledgement of past crimes would be signed between our species, like how many countries do today.
That’s just my thoughts though.

This doesn’t invalidate your point: Older Android devices (aside from Fairphone) have worse update support compared to equally old iPhones

My experience with Android was 1 year of updates
For you information, many recent Android phones have started pushing really good software support, even on lower end models! I believe even the lowest tier Samsung gets 6 years of OS updates, with the “S” series getting 7. Pixel has 7 years across the board, OnePlus does 4+6 years of OS updates + security updates, Oppo does 5+6 even on a few of their midrange devices, Xiaomi I believe also has at least a 5 year OS support guarantee for their highest end phones.
And of course, the newest Fairphone 6 (priced at 600 Euros, or around 700 USD) offers 8 years of OS updates, which as far as I know, is the longest of any manufacturer. It’s also very repairable, so when the battery degrades you can easily replace it, which is nice!

Apple has a better reputation for privacy, though that would be an incredibly low bar to limbo under compared to Google
That is a fair point! Google is notorious for gobbling up your data bits. Apple probably does too, but yeah, Google is definitely worse on that front.
The ideal world would be either degoogled Android ROMs (like LineageOS, iodeOS, and you mentioned GrapheneOS. Even e/OS is a thing) or Linux phones (in the distant future once they mature hopefully!!!)

We really need Linux phones to pop as a solid third option! The new Jolla Phone seems like a neat device for a reasonable, but aside from that, there aren’t many other good options (that is, aside from older devices with degraded batteries and all).
As you become older, your sense of time is much different. On a large scale, 1 month is 1/24 of a 2 year old’s age, while for somebody who’s 40, it’s 1/480 of their age. Time seems to run faster as you have been on the Earth for much longer, and I would guess that applies for small units of time too, like minutes and seconds. As a kid, you think that an hour is ages, but as you grow up an hour seems to go by much quicker, even though time still ticks as it always does on Earth.
You, being older now, count slower as time feels like it goes by relatively quicker. Counting “Mississippis”, “hippopotamus”, etc. are guesstimates at best and aren’t accurate measurements, being affected by how you believe time is paced. Obviously you could try to say it super quickly (when playing hide and seek as kids, me and my siblings used to do this) or ridiculously slowly, but you don’t as you have a general understanding of how long a second should be, and this idea of a second changes as you grow up!

The GameSir Cyclone seems to be a slightly pricier version of the Supernova with TMR sticks and microswitch buttons, if you prefer that. The 8BitDo Pro 3 is like an Ultimate 2 with interchangeable ABXY buttons (requiring a little suction tool) and a PlayStation-like symmetrical stick layout. I do not have either of these controllers, but they are highly praised online!

The term is to “scrape”, “scraping a website”. See that singular p?
Another good example to illustrate is the word “illustrate”. You would say “illustrating”, not “illustratting”, as the magic e is replaced with “ing”. A closer example to “scrape” would be the word “gape”, you would say “a gaping hole”, not a “gapping”
I hope this helps! English is a weird language. To “scrape” means to collect, while to “scrap” means to discard.

When greeting people in English, many just say their names vs saying “I’m (name)”, especially among business people and the sort who want to be efficient in their dialogue. You see this a lot in a bunch of movies and other media too.
e.g. Ryan walks into the bar, where George is waiting for him
Ryan: “Ryan.”
George: “George.”
(Ryan and George shake hands)
And sometimes when we are listing out activities, we also omit the subject. Like if asked what somebody did over the morning, they might say “Oh you know, went to the supermarket, bought some vegetables, ate some salad”

Unfortunately, that method only works if both accounts are the same, and it also needs an additional Switch. :(
My switch is a “v2” revision so software hacking doesn’t work
GitLab exists and is used by many big corpos already, and Codeberg has its own version of Actions (woodpecker I think it’s called.)

I tried that, it doesn’t work. For security reasons, that’s probably for the better to be honest, but a bit annoying for me

Unfortunately mine is a “V2” Switch that can’t be exploited through software means

Syncthing is a really great peer-to-peer file sync for me. If you want something like Immich (which uses a server), but for general files, there’s a bunch of options. I use Nextcloud, but there’s many others that are smaller in size (since Nextcloud is pretty big).

Personally, I just have the local files saved on my devices and listen to them locally. No usage of the network, no need to set up Navidrome or anything like that, it works really well! I don’t really change the music I listen to that much, but if I did need to sync between devices, I could simply use Syncthing!
One slight gripe is that, when listening to music on my phone, I get notification pings interrupting my music. When I get the time, I want to get a dedicated MP3 player to avoid this issue, probably some iPod or a clone that supports Rockbox.

LED bulbs are far more efficient than incandescent bulbs, meaning less energy bills! “60W” LED bulbs are in reality more like 5ish watts, the labels just help you to compare against traditional power-hungry bulbs.
Just checked, the right one has green goop too! Maybe it’s lubricant for the screw that was misapplied?
