Since day 1 of the war i’ve been reading headlines saying “russia will be bankrupt in 3 months”, “russian economy has collapsed”… still hasnt happened…

I’m not cheering for russia, and i’m not yelling “fake news mainstream media!!”

It’s just my observation… i’m not sure who to believe. Its probably somewhere in the middle. Not as rosy as russia reports, but not as dire as the western media says

i don’t understand how this is happening in the biggest/richest city in america…

i get that there are staff shortages and everything, but shouldn’t NYC of all places get some special treatment to cover up the problems? if this happened in some podunk city, i wouldn’t be surprised… but rich people fly in and out of NYC all the time. you’d think they’d get someone to fix the problem ASAP.

Probably 99% of the people who go to the World Cup will be fine. Even the ones who are non-white, or are obviously muslim or something.

I have 2 muslim friends who travel to the US at least once a month for business. Obvious visible minorities, obvious muslims.

I cant fathom how they have the confidence to do this but anecdotally, they’ve never had an issue. It’s definitely one of those, high damage, low probability things in terms of risk management.
