  • I highly value privacy, but the gap between local LLMs vs top of the line cloud LLMs (e.g. Claude & DeepSeek) is still too great for me to switch completely to the former.

I’ll use PWAs to sandbox LLMs from everything else (and each other) and try to create semantic distance between the user and the queries.

How about that leaked Claude source code? Is there a reliably clean version of that available anywhere yet?

After the joke I still had to look it up. There are two types: towers and floaters.

The tower rigs are built in shallow water on a seabed foundation (like a building) and can reach heights of 200+ feet above sea level with 60-100 feet of the tower submerged.

The floating ones are only 30-60 feet above sea level and 60-100 feet of mostly pontoons below (like an iceberg) and are further stabilized using cables or computer-controlled thrusters.

So my guess is the one in the photo is a tower one, but that may not be rig(ht).

  • It truly heralded the Genesis of a new age. Ooh now I wanna watch the Jeff Nichols (Midnight Special) directed 2016 movie “Loving” about that Loving v. Virginia Supreme Court case. It stars Ruth Negga (Preacher) and Joel Edgerton (Owen Lars in a Star War) as Mildred and Richard Loving.

If I actually wanted to reproduce I’d preferentially seek out a mate from the most genetically isolated population I could find (e.g. the hyper-isolationist Sentinelese) for the very reason that greater genetic diversity is the surest metric for evolutionary fitness. For the same reasons incest isn’t. (Altho I may have to send a drone in to bring back a DNA sample if I’d also like to survive the effort.)

  • If we can’t live forever, overclocking our brain-computer interfaces to cram more virtual time into our remaining years is the next best thing.

Maybe eventually there’ll be FOSS privacy respecting degree packages that you can incorporate in maybe a week. Do 52 of them and prove something new at their insections. Repeat.
