Dear Quincy, popsicles. Specifically the ones called “Italian ice”.

Popsicles really are great for being sick with sore throat. They are full of salt and sugar to help get you hydrated and have electrolytes (salt). The coldness helps sooth inflammation.

I stock up on them every summer so I have some for winter cold season.

But they are in stores now. The Italian ice ones seem better because they are a consistent slushy. Whereas the other brands are solid ice.

They are also cheap. Less than $2 for a box.

Also last time I was sick my throat hurt so bad. I went to Dr and they told me to use Flonase. I was like. It’s my throat. Not my nose that’s in pain. But it’s the drip from the nose that causes the throat to hurt. So I got Flonase. Followed the instructions. And my throat stopped hurting within a few hours.

    Get some Flonase.

  • In my 20s I spent my weekends at the local gay bar. Drag shows. Better music. Better people.

I’m asexual so I was just there to dance and get tipsy.

There was always a hot drunk gal and her pervy bf trying to pick up women. I was pretty sure most of the time the chick wasn’t bi or even into it but was doing it to appeal to the guy.

Bro. You already have a hot gf. Stop being greedy. Go home.

They would try to grind up on you and if you said no thanks. They’d just wait a bit and try again. Try to buy you drinks.

Man. These people were the worst. I wasn’t the only person who encountered them regularly.

    My friends all had stories.

The woman would first get your guard down. Right. You think you are just dancing with another friendly woman. Having a good time. She starts to get a little physical but it’s still in the range of acceptable for women. Because women are more comfortable around other women and we don’t assume it’s pervy. At first.

Then she starts trying to grind or something or kiss you and you gotta be like. Hey. No. Let’s just do the other dancing we were doing. Then a flipping dude will pop up out of nowhere. They try to sandwich you.

These people were just the worst. They got known pretty fast though and then everyone shunned them.

They always went after the younger patrons too.

I had a friend where the dude straight up came behind her and grabbed her chest.

And she told me he 100% had an erection. We actually got the bouncer to kick that couple out.

    No shame. No understanding boundaries.

They could ruin your evening if they targeted you.

  • Remember those viruses that were around a few years back. They would lock your computer unless you paid like $100. I believe most said something like . This isn’t a legit copy of windows. Pay now or you can’t login.

And if you paid. It was of course just stealing your credit card. But a lot of stupid people did it.

I remember I got the virus once and I had to use another computer to get rid of it by making a boot flash stick. … I can’t recall the details but there wasn’t any way to fix it on the computer because it locked you out of everything.

Maybe around during windows 7 of 8?

Anyway. I bet that’s where they got the idea.

  • I quite liked the short stories with illustrations in the textbooks.

Specifically the spooky ones. Illustrated by the guy who did the covers for “scary stories to tell in the dark”. Stephen Gammell I remember reading them over and over.

The ones that look like runny black ink. Terrifying.

As for high school level. Honestly I remember a few required readings and not liking them.
Middlesex , thought it would be interesting but it was just like listening to someone’s mental train of thought and was super boring. And catcher n the rye. Super boring about an incel. I probably would have liked the Great Gatsby then, but I only read it after high school.

I was super into fantasy and horror in high school so I didn’t care much for anything else.
