His misconduct is an asset to his bosses. This kind of administration doesn’t hire people who don’t already have a good reason to be fired. Yes-men have to be easy to fire and they have to know it. Otherwise they start thinking for themselves.

I’m seeing a lot of misinformation in this thread. Stills don’t “blow up”. That was a myth perpetuated by law enforcement in the same spirit that smoking pot will make you go crazy. Making soup in a pressure cooker is far more dangerous than using a still. Distilling liquor is done at atmospheric pressure, no part of the equipment is ever under pressure.

Fun fact: this is where the “banana connector” came from. Before copper was discovered, early humans used bananas for all their audio connections. The name stuck, even though wires are made of metal today.
