      The bulk of this is collapsing down a nasty law of cosines I think in the triangle. I think I’ve got a strategy for the circle, but I’ll see. Been working on it a little for two days, made some progress.

        IOP is not a right triangle. This problem just came up while trying to solve an engeneering problem.

        Thx a lot for trying it out, i found two solutions myself, but it was either solving a quartic polynomial or finding the limit of a series… I wanted to see if anyone found a more elegant solution ;)

          This is what I have so far. Realized my confusion - d’^2 + d^2 wouldn’t be D^2, ofc, so that the cosine there doesn’t evaluate to zero.
