The US Navy has denied reports of food shortages on board two major vessels participating in the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
Yesterday USA Today reported crew aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli were not getting enough to eat.
One photo taken by a Marine showed a mostly empty lunch tray with a single scoop of shredded meat and one tortilla.

Caption says it is unidentified meat.
Looks similar to the packaged gyro strips I buy, but you need more than one for a gyro.
That’s exactly what I thought of when I saw it. It looks a bit undercooked though, those meat strips are a bit like bacon and tend to curl up and bubble when they’re cooked.
Not if you boil them in water.
That really doesn’t look like meat… Or edible for that matter.
Have you seen milspec “food” before? IIRC, it’s “graded” right above prison quality (which is just above dog food, I believe?).
Could it be scrapple? It’s definitely some kind of processed meat that’s been fried on the flat top
Yeah, scrapple was what i was thinking too (there name escaped me when I posted the image though).
