    The family contains more than 2,000 individual species of pholcids, including those commonly known as cellar spider, daddy long-legs spider, carpenter spider, daddy long-legger, vibrating spider, gyrating spider, long daddy, and angel spider.

    I always heard them called granddaddy long legs, which really cuts the sexual tension right out of it

      I think that depends on the location. I have seen 4 different species called granddaddy long legs in my life. None of them seem to have overlapping territory. At least 2 of them were definitely spiders. The little ball guy that exists in the Midwest I don’t think would qualify as a proper spider, but I’m not an entomologist
