6 days agothe key word here is, ‘for reasons I’ll never understand’. I personally will never understand why oh why an alcoholic can’t simply just have a glass of water if they want to have a drink. I’ll never understand why a gambling addict just don’t gamble. I don’t gamble or drink alcohol, so why do people do it?
It’s a matter of pleasure. Some people have a disordered brain that tell them they must gain pleasure at all costs, even if it puts them deep in debt or destroys their liver. Everybody who has a substance or a behavioural issue know it’s harmful but they just can’t willpower themselves out of it. It’s tough, and those who will never understand aren’t exactly making it easy with their judgy attitudes.
I’d also add it’s the world’s most prolific thief because it stole my heart 💜
