I’ve been unemployed for going on 18 months. It’s awful and the market is the worst it’s been since I’ve been working (15 years or so).

DC is over 20 hours away by car and that’s assuming I could afford the gas or my 15 year old car could make it that far… and I’m only halfway to the other coast.

Please stop writing shit like this like those of us reading it have any control over the situation. Russia will not be my “buddy.”
It is a credit union… we switched to them ~12 years ago because Bank of America was being an asshole with their fees.

We don’t really have less laws. Just far less enforcement mechanisms. For instance I am supposed to be able to use my own modem, the FCC rules prevent ATT from forcing me to rent a modem. But the FCC hasn’t given a shit about anything since the 80s. So ATT forces me to rent a modem. Laws are only as good as their enforcement.
My bank recently switched all of its tellers with a row of ATMs inside the bank. I think this is kind of what they’re talking about.

They have already started looking at other landers because SpaceX hasn’t produced anything for the landing yet.

Exactly, that and the “we are a [insert product name here] shop” mentality. The things I have had to fight for over the years are mind boggling.

All of my degree was in C, C++, C#, Java, etc. and the one class I had that did web applications did Java backends and middleware with PHP frontends. It wasn’t until I got into the industry that I had to learn Angular, Electron, React, Django, etc.
I don’t think it’s the devs making these decisions.

I guess. My problem is with you trying to delineate varying levels of “rich” like “filthy rich” was anything other than an opinion to begin with. Adding in that my opinion is that if you can afford to feed 7 mouths without budgeting in this economy then you really shouldn’t be trying to defend yourself as not “filthy rich”.

I really don’t think you are arguing what you think you are arguing. But good for you I guess.

My wife and I are in our 30s with three degrees between the two of us and no kids and still aren’t “don’t have to look at our bank account before buying groceries” rich. It sounds like you might need to check your privilege.
That’s sucks. Best of luck to you!
