I do enjoy the historical setting as such. I just infinitely prefer the game worlds of older assassin’s creed games like Unity, which feel much, much more alive than odyssey. Even the now ancient Ezio trilogy has livelier and less static cities.

Besides that, many of the newer ACs are just terrible as Assassin’s Creed games, which is all the more turnoff for me as a fan of the old games. I can forgive a mediocre game world if the story is great.

Exactly. I mean, I’m sure I’ve seen some GenAI imagery that I didn’t notice as such but a lot of the time, it just immediately trips some subconscious uncanny valley detector
