This looks fun!

I watched a portion of a lengthy video about it from Josh Strife Hayes. It seems like one of those games that would frustrate and compel me.

I love No Mans Sky. I feel like I would tell people to be careful going to others homes as you can easily get past all currency hurdles… that being said, I did that and still had a blast. Also, don’t dig and then build in it, treat he ground like it will swallow you. lol

I see this all the time on Linus Tech Tips and it looks great.

Yes!!! This was my first Worms game. I think on Playstation 2. I loved it. I also bought the Xbox copy of Worms 4 Mayhem for the Xbox and played it on my 360. I think those games, even with their faults, were so much fun.

If I jumped in right now, should I just start with #2?

I remember even back then that the amount of people playing was the issue. It had this “fragile alliance” mode where you all would do a heist, collecting money as you went. The players with the most money “won” by the end. You could turn on your allies and try to take theirs and get to the getaway, but you could also not and then split everything 50/50 from all who make it to the getaway. Pretty sure you could even bribe the driver/pilot with a 50/50 offer to leave early and abandon everyone else. Or something like that. It was a lot of fun and certainly unique in its time. I actually got inspired and just found a video. Good times.

I’ve heard this a lot! I just searched “Earth Defense Force” and it showed me #6 and that makes me happy. Wasn’t the original on 360? I remember thinking it look like a bust and then hearing people pretty much say what you are saying.

If you’ve played it, do you think it is worth it to play the first game first? Both are on sale from Steam. These look fun to me.

The screenshots make me realize I am still a giant coward when it comes to real horror in games. Tossing the PS1 controller while playing Resident Evil or yelling “no no no” in Condemned. I love the look of this, but I love this for you.

I have a friend who got into owning a chain business location. They don’t want kids (nor do I so no judgement), so he would spend months at a time gaming. It was a bit cool and a bit sad, only because he used to be more active. The area he lived in to do this was super undesirable and other towns were an hour-plus away. I’m talking gaming from eyes open to eyes closed with the small breaks to crunch some numbers.
I also gamed obscenely when I was young. I don’t miss the long duration but I do miss the eagerness for each new experience that I think came from gaming as thing rapidly got better.

Yes! Plus there is the ::: naked run ::: level where we squealed our way through it. A hot take to: the online was fun and under appreciated from what I remember.
Edit: I don’t know how spoiler tags work.

Kane and Lynch 2 was an amazing experience with a friend. We talk about it as much as Gears of War for all of its impact. Reflecting now, I still think it has style.

Oh wow! I didn’t make the connection that it’s the same people. Back to back massive titles is impressive.

That is neat. I wonder if this is going to be a direction for more Microsoft games.
It certainly looks unlike a lot of games I would draw similarities to.

I hope you’re right. I have half expected AI to be dealt to students in the way every student gets Office 365.
I am just nervous is all. Maybe each “Student” profile gets a set number of tokens but you can upgrade to “Student+” for more. I joke but I’m scared.

I will say AI has been an accessibility boon for ESL students, who regularly show the most depth in work I’ve seen.

I’m a bit stuck at what to do. It’s not going anywhere, but students seem to be worse at communicating from my experience. I don’t want to fall to confirmation bias so I won’t say I know that’s a broad truth, but it’s been my experience.
I’m hearing a lot of Universities, not just in California, are embracing it. Often policy is just that students have to note the use of AI but then it’s okay as university policies. Professors can still say no in their syllabus, but how long will that be a thing for plus it doesn’t deter from my experience.
I think we need to do a lot of research into how to ensure reluctant learners can be taught with AI being a thing. I know for a lot of writing heavy classes they have turned to physical writing in the classroom.
Oh my word, this person is awesome. And it is super generous to give the whole drive download right off. Just wow. I have a feeling a scaled up Honkdra is in my near future.
