I totally agree that not all undercover cops are deep cover. But the ones that aren’t basically aren’t hiding it all day everyday. They hide it to do a simple sting like to bust a prostitute. Once the bust happens, they don’t care who kmows. And the relatively small time criminals they are busting aren’t getting all techy to try and find them.

I dunno, if you are that kind of undercover cop, and you are living in your normal home with your family… and the criminals follow you to that home. I think we have bigger problems. The neighbors surely know the person is a cop, don’t need fancy bluetooth anything to figure that out.

Couple of sensationalized things. Undercover cops aren’t carrying a body cam or taser. That would be easy to spot in person.
Next bluetooth is short range. You gotta be decently close. Like 25 feet give or take.
Commentary, of course the company was lazy. It costs money to add the feature to rotate mac addresses.

I don’t think any jury in the world would call clicking on links literally hacking. When I read poking around, that is what I think of. And their point is that if you click on a link that takes you to a secure area because of bad security, it is defined as hacking by the law in some jurisdictions. This is because those laws don’t describe the action, they simply say “accessing” certain data. Which is lame.

Cause they don’t expect it to work. They want to campaign on passing for the midterms before it is proven not to work.

No chance. Why do you think all the tech billionaires were at the inauguration. Plus, trump is very pro business. So are Republicans in general.

But why would it spread? Utah can pass this because they don’t have a large presense of tech companies with deep pockets to oppose it. But any state that does is going to be up against those tech companies. And we know money usually wins. The whole biting the hand that feeds you thing and all.

I’m not 100% sure. But in general, interstate commerce is the federal governments domain.
And if the company has no assets in the state, what could a state court do if the company didn’t pay? The state court has no jurisdiction outside the state. Now if I was an exec for that company, I wouldn’t take any trips there just to be safe…

This is just another dog and pony show. If the company doesn’t have any offices or assets in utah, then they don’t have to care. Utah can censor it’s own internet if it doesn’t like it.
This law simply has no legs to stand on.

Well, they also had less flights than other airlines. Like a lot less.
Also, southwest, jetblue, Hawaiian (97 years), and frontier have never had a fatal crash either. So not that impressive.

If you read what I said. Putting herself in a position where the cops might kill her is what I said was wrong. Don’t give them an easy excuse. And don’t act like them and escalate. There are other ways to be an obstruction that if they do kill you will make bigger headlines and probably save your friend.

It just means they recognize that we are all assholes on the inside. Some of us cognitively try to supress the assholeness. But it’s there. If it wasn’t you would have died of hunger as a baby probably. Cause boy-oh is screaming at 2am an asshole move.
