While I don’t strictly disagree, PC hardware isn’t cheap today either. Just had a desktop get damaged in a move, and I am loathe to replace any parts (really need a new mobo though, it’s TECHNICALLY working, buuuut…)
¯_(ツ)_/¯

I know this was one of very few games that actually wouldn’t run with an expansion pack, so consider investigating relevant settings on your emulator

There are so many obvious things they could try. -New stages (imagine, a new level) -Differing weapon options/customizable ships (don’t even get me started) -Reactive galaxy map (ie: after each mission, Andross takes a “turn” and does something that changes missions or works toward his own win state) -Open world stages (would work great with the above, wherein, like 64, completing different objectives prompts a different path or different outcomes) -Multiple vehicle options for a single stage (Corneria in the landmaster, for example) -Squad control (ie: after you help out Bill, he can be sent to other planets to impede Andross’ actions away from where you’re going, or stay with you for extra gun support on your own levels) -Flight challenge stages, where there’s little to no shooting, but getting through without crashing is very difficult (allows blocking off weird routes so Andross doesn’t have to be everywhere, but a path can still be obstructed, as well)
And that’s just off the top of my head, and ignoring stuff they tried in, say, Assault

It’s hard to win an argument with a smart person. It’s damn near impossible to win an argument with an idiot.

Rock and stone! Deep Rock is absolutely the most wholesome fandom in gaming, as far as I know. The devs just keep making new free content, along with thank you packs for the community to buy, if they want to support them, and it keeps working. I should buy more people that game.

I couldn’t stop following this from the moment it was first announced. It looked so incredibly bad. Ignoring that the economics of play to earn don’t work without a steady stream of new rubes players buying in, this looked like the most uninspired, boring idle management game I’d ever seen. It was so clearly the lowest effort rug pull they could manage.
Can’t wait for Molyneux’s next game
This reminds me of that Russian woman who subdued and bound a burgular to a chair, after which she fed him only dick pills and kept him as a sex toy for a week.
I should risk breaking into Russian homes, I think

I mean really the whole thing. Security by obscurity is no security at all. Device search engines like shodan exist and seeking out specifically insecure devices becomes easier by the day.
Absolute security is achievable, but comes with costs. If I’m willing to airgap everything and never go online, only using my own code, my device will be safe.
Black box testing is MUCH harder than white box testing, especially as, and I hate to say it, AI based security scanners become better and better at identifying flaws in source code. Having more information about your target is always the first step in penetration testing, and more information is ALWAYS better.

Agreed, I actually did like the ME3 multiplayer, and played a TON of it. With regard to loot boxes, I was happy that updates were free and progress was achievable without buying in (until I started getting horrible rng on weapon mods and just didn’t get any).
That being said, there’s no arguing it paved the way for the horrible modern equivalent.
For those curious about ME3 multiplayer today, it’s worth noting that purchases are only client side checks, and EA doesn’t care about the property enough to be banning anyone anymore (multiplayer didn’t make it to Legendary Edition), so you can buy all the boxes you want by spoofing your credits with cheat engine with no consequences

As others have noted, EA acquires devs AFTER they’ve started an incredibly successful new IP and then grinds them into action games from whatever they were until the series has nothing left of what made it good in the first place.
Mass Effect 3 was the first major release with loot crates, for fucks sake!
Yeah it’s terrible, studies have even shown that such piracy turns into a massive free marketing campaign for the box office release. When the pirate bay was shuttered for months, box office numbers dropped significantly
