The OP means literal cowboys. Most people took over whatever they wanted if they had guns and the opponents didn’t ; it doesn’t mean the British forces that took Zulu territory were cowboys

All 3 of those things are fairly similar. Biggest difference is a lack of cows.
I mean, the OOP is describing cowboy clothing style in particular though as the reason.
