I hope this gains traction. We don’t need faster scientific advancement at the expense of principles. It’ll be a net negative if we did that.
Most universities have active committees on the ethical use of AI in research, but the solution for that is do anything you want in a private company. It basically comes down to don’t generate fake data, which has been an issue since digital imaging and Photoshop.
