The grave site of many Russians killed in Prague during WWII.
And hot take here… Even though i consider myself a socialist, i despise the hammer and sickle. I see it as no better than a swastika. If you need these symbols for your ideology then you should reflect inward a bit more.
I don’t disagree, but it is the symbol the honored dead fought under. In context I think it’s fine, but if you’re using it today, that’s different.
The funny thing is, that these symbols have been made illegal to use in Czechia since January (esp. For promoting communism).
I wasn’t aware of that. Are there plans to remove them from places like this memorial, or is it just contemporary uses that are banned?
Im pretty sure it’s for contemporary uses (esp., political - there’s still a communist party here).
So the self proclaimed socialist has no idea what the hammer and sickle represents do you?
LOL. So here come the purity tests for anyone who has a different view than a tankie.
You’re so unserious
Claims to be socialist, speaks like a liberal
Claims to be socialist, speaks like an authoritarian, state capitalist.
So says the authoritarian child. Go throw your tantrum somewhere else.
The hammer and sickle is certainly tainted; More devisive than helpful.
Great photo though. Love the color treatment.
Why would the hammer and sickle be akin to a swastika? It is a symbol of the unity of the working class, urban and rural
Because they’re not actually a socialist, they’re a shit Lib that thinks that they are on the left.
