    Are you American perhaps ?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renaissance_(French_political_party)

" Renaissance (RE) is a political party in France that is typically described as liberal and centrist] or centre-right."

If you’re American you’re probably under the misapprehension that “liberal” means “left wing”, it doesn’t.

If you click on the word liberal in the wiki page it will take you to an explanation of it.

Tl;dr substitute “libertarian” for liberal to get a rough approximation in american of what that sentence means.

They’re centre right economically with a positive view towards personal freedoms. Not full Ayn Rand nutbag libertarians. Closer to the sane GOP you don’t have any more left of.

The problem is that the right in many countries have taken to using the American definition of liberal. In my country (Estonia), the word “liberast” (basically “libtard” except gay connotation, as pederast is just gay in common parlance here, doesn’t matter if the other party is a boy or a grown man) has been thrown around plenty and it’s NOT about economic policy, I can tell ya that.

Oh that has little to do with tech bros, it’s the alt-right wave that started in the early-mid 2010s. I mean Facebook facilitated it quite a bit of course, but it was gonna happen regardless, it’s been sponsored by Russia among others.
